Today we are making a real bait order for a customer who wanted a color profile match of a Skink! Skinks are apparently bass forage in some areas of the country. This customer wanted to match the color profile of the skinks that he sees around his home lake.
This bait required 3 different colors to achieve. The twinjector, single injector, blending block and c-block were all used.
Making bass fishing baits sure is fun!

pretty new to artificial lures so I got an X-rap 10 silver and a couple of caivo SP 110 minnows

I use them on piers and jetties and i notice they only sink about 1-3 inches down but when I watch videos on how to use them, I see that they sink around a foot down. I also feel the action of the lure so I have no idea why its not sinking deep like how others use it. I use 20 pound braid for my main line to swivel to 20 pound fluorocarbon using improved clinch knot or just a straight FG knot. any tips on how to use these?

Hahaha😂Yeti bucket! Great video 👍 I will say I catch more and bigger fish (all year) with a 1/4 oz jighead and a cocahoe minnow swimbait.#2 would have to be a mirro lure 51 or 52 white has always caught me limits in the surf 🌊 fish on 🎣🤙
Swirl block, nice. Maybe a triple laminate also? That might look ridiculous…black/yellow/black, or yellow/black/yellow. I'll edit once the video is done. 😀
Edit I really like how those grass grenades came out with the swirl block and if you can get that c-block to laminate the worms like those grass grenades, then you've got a serious winner. You still have a winner even with a traditional laminate though.

Great video and it’s nice to see colors you can’t go and buy in a store I think that is what gives guys like us that make baits the edge sometimes love the videos keep it up would love to see a smoke color and how you would go about it.

I tie flies mostly but I would love to make my own baits because I'm not one of those purists who goes one way or the other because fishing is fishing. That and I dig frogs/toads, lizards and snakes and we got plenty of combos out west that I would love to try.
As for the skinks, ours out here are a bit different. Still got blue tails but it's tan, black and brown. I'd probably go blue tail and tan or brown body with gold and black flake. Already got a bunch of ideas running through my head.

I just got a sample pack from Dead On. Way better than Do-it. And at least on par if not better than what I used to get from Bear’s Baits. Just have to settle in on which formula, I think.
